The ERA Foundation usually invests behind a lead investor. However it broke with this convention with an investment in LimitEar as the sole investor in a recent round.
LinitEar’s patented technology breaks new ground in hearing protection helping users who might be exposed to peak level limiting and high sound levels to rely on the safety of their communications devices whatever their working environment. LimitEar is a major breakthrough, utilising Hearing Dose Management (HDM) to protect these users. It is a low intrusion solution to the problem that wearers of headphones and earpieces can be subjected to noise levels in excess of legally allowable levels. It lets through quieter sounds untouched and as the wearer’s noise dose approaches the legal levels it reduces the sound levels as it needs to, ensuring that the wearer is not exposed to a noise dose above the legal average limit. The ERA Foundation’s investment has allowed LimitEar to produce prototype systems which are being tested by two leading broadcast organisations.
An ERA Foundation Director, Fred Cahill, has been appointed as a non-executive director on the LimitEar board.
